The Prodigy was formed in 1990 around the musical personality of Liam Howlett, who until then had been a DJ in the hip-hop group Cut To Kill. Its three members, Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Leeroy Thornhill come from Essex (England).

Initially focused on underground dance music, of enormous strength in the UK in the early 90s, they evolved by introducing guitars into their sounds and demonstrating that electronic music could also be released on the big stages. They were the maximum exponent of techno-punk.

Several EPZs and singles and three albums were placed at the top of the UK and US charts, constituting one of those rare cases in which a modest record label achieves resounding success in the mainstream music market.

Its leader, Liam Howlett, who has not lost his DJing skills, released a mix album (“The Dirtchamber Sessions Vol. 1”) at the Z99 in which he combined the styles that have most influenced The Prodigy throughout its career.s – The Prodigy Discography
