ABOUT

Whitesnake is a British Hard Rock & Metal band, founded in 1977 by David Coverdale after the split of the band Deep Purple, where he had been part of during the period 1973-1976. During their first years, their music was essentially oriented towards Rock, Blues and Soul.

In February 1977 David Coverdale and guitarist Micky Moody, who had collaborated with Coverdale on his two solo albums, formed Whitesnake. The rest of the lineup included guitarist Bernie Marsden, bassist Neil Murray, drummer David Dowle and keyboardist Brian Johnston (later replaced by Pete Solley). In April of that same year, their first album Snakebite would be released under the name David Coverdale’s Whitesnake.

Whitesnake’s first proper album would be released the same year, under the name Trouble. The keyboardist of the album was a former partner of David Coverdale in years in Deep Purple, Jon Lord. Among the songs on the album, classics such as Take me with you, Trouble, Lie down and a good version of The Beatles’ Day Tripper would be released.
