ABOUT THE BAND

Journey is a hard rock band founded in 1973 in San Francisco by Neal Schon and Gregg Rolie, former Santana musicians.

Columbia Records signs contract with the group in November 1974, and they realize the 3 first discs of the band Journey (1975), Look Into the Future (1976) and Next (1977), indicated as one of his biggest recordings.

Steve Perry plans the meeting of the classic formation of Journey and for it, he has contacted with the rest of members to achieve his purpose. However, Journey’s current line-up is already working on what will be the next studio album. And it is doing it with the vocalist of the last years: Arnel Pineda.

According to Neal Schon – Journey’s guitarist – to The Daily Star newspaper, “He [Perry] seems to enjoy being the center of attention. But the reality is that he is no longer the official singer. He’s gone. Perry left Journey in 1998 to pursue a solo career. Since then, he has been replaced by Steve Augeri, Jeff Scott Soto and Arnel Pineda, who performed at Kobetasonik in 2009.

In 2011, Journey has also made headlines for winning Classic Rock magazine’s Event of the Year award for his return to the UK Top-10 with the single “Don’t Stop Believin’ “.
