ABOUT Love Like Blood

Love Like blood is a band of German origin 1989-2001, and was led by Gunnar Eysel and York Eysel influenced by Sinister Rock similar to the style of The Mission, Gene Loves Jezebel, Killing Joke etc..

Love Like Blood’s sound is characteristically gothic with a touch of hard rock that gives it a freshness and a lot of endearing originality. The band didn’t have much popularity but in the mid nineties with their album Exposure their sound took on gothic metal qualities and so they were grouped in this scene together with bands that also played 80s covers like HIM,To/Die/For and 69 Eyes.

Love Like Blood have done many covers of other artists, including Heroes (Bowie), Angie (Rolling Stones), Seven Seconds (Youssou N’Dour & Neneh Cherry), but this does not detract from their own unforgettable songs such as Kiss and Tell, Remember, Lethal Radiation, Johanesburg where they deal with themes ranging from romance to politics. This band has not been active since 2001 when they recorded their last album called Chronology of a love affair, where they play covers of Bauhaus, Jesus and Mary Chain, Killing Joke, The Cure, among others.
